Over five years ago Menta saw Derby as a potentially great opportunity to originate
key regeneration and started investing in the city.
The overall strategy for the Bold Lane project is to retain investment within
the historic part of the city, which has now been renamed the ‘Cathedral
Quarter’, and focuses on the Sadlergate area, Bold Lane Car park, and Council
landholdings.
Menta’s investment has transformed a number of key redundant
properties in the area, and has facilitated new investment into the area
through
Derby’s
regeneration body, Cityscape, and the East Midlands Development Agency
(EMDA).
The major mixed use development opportunity including the potential to develop
the Council owned Middleton House, and the surrounding area within a master plan
originated by Menta has now been transferred to a Morley-backed delivery partnership
working with EMDA which will eventually see the entire area developed as a live,
work and leisure Quarter as originally proposed by Menta.
